Sight fishing for redfish?

Looking at a lodge in Texas currently for a sight fishing on the fly for reds with a couple of buddies.

Curious if anyone here has done a similar trip and where you fished and how you liked it? Being a hunter and angler, sight fishing has always been my favorite pursuit with a fly rod, and species seldom matters. Unlike hunting, I can choose to keep or release my catch. A win-win.

I have not, but a fellow fly angler from the South Jersey Coastal Fly Anglers was just down in Louisiana last week I believe brian@flyfisherfitness.com (fly fisher fitness more of a blog than a business if I recall, he’s a retired director (or manager?) from US Fish and Wildlife… good guy) Brian Braudis, lives here in Smithville

He was definitely out on a sight fishing expedition, saw a couple of pics from the trip
