I've met him several times, fishing the northern NJ beaches in Spring and Fall. Nice guy and very talented fly tyer. I didn't hear about this and hope he recovers soon and fully.

I came here to post that I met Bob a few times, mostly at shows. He was always kind and was willing to help me and my wife with fly tying techniques. Sad to hear about this, condolences to his family.

Palmer, J.S.C., to Vehicular Homicide in connection with an incident that occurred in Seaside Heights on September 23, 2024, resulting in the death of Robert Popovics, 75, of Seaside Park. At the time of her sentencing on June 26, 2026, the State will be seeking a term of five years New Jersey State Prison, subject to the terms of the No Early Release Act."
